A leisure park intended for a variety of different ages and social spheres, redefining the concept of public space: U / U Studio designed Řeporyje Skatepark, transforming what was until then a vacant area in a predominantly residential neighbourhood in western Prague.
The NODE Architecture & Urbanism (NODE) studio founded by Doreen Heng Liu designed the restored surface landscape above the water purification plant and the related underground offices of the Shenzhen Lotus Water Culture Base complex, located within a municipal lotus-themed park in Luohu District, Shenzhen, China.

The "Sporta pils dārzi" urban community garden in Riga, Latvia, created by Artilērijas dārzi, is the result of a community initiative to recover an abandoned lot and presents itself as a new type of public space. The Dutch architecture firm MVRDV, in collaboration with the urban planners from StudioPOD, has transformed a first section of what is one of the classic non-urban places, in this specific case Mumbai’s Senapati Bapat Marg flyover. Thanks to the architectural intervention carried out, One Green Mile has created a public space for the entire local community, adding much needed services and greenery.
The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial award presented by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, or Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona (CCCB), which has announced the selected works and the finalists in the 11th edition of the prize. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at CCCB on 14 and 15 November 2022.
